Semi-electric slitting and cutting unit SPR-1250/10-A

Electromechanical slitting machine SPR-1250/10-A (disk shears) is designed for simultaneous sleeting up to 1.5 mm thick sheet or coiled metal into several bands. As compared with machine SPR-1250/5-A, it is equipped with increased diameter (105 mm) shafts, a more powerful drive, heavy-duty bearing supports, thereby it cuts 1,5 mm thick galvanized steel with 5 pairs of disk cutters (it cuts 1,2 mm thick galvanized steel with 10 pairs of disk cutters).

Shafts with disk cutters installed on them are driven by a gear motor connected via a chain gear with the lower shaft, transferring the torque from the lower shaft to the upper shaft using gear wheels. Quick and easy adjustment of cutters for various blank width is performed by attaching the cutter blades with retention screws into 2 symmetrically milled surfaces on the shaft (the flattened surfaces are located at 90°, thereby an additional positioning precision is attained). High cut quality is ensured by precise machining of mating surfaces of disk cutters and shaft (polished surfaces), and fine fit thereof, which eliminates any misalignment and outrun during installation and operation. The distance between the disk cutters is set using a template or a sliding caliper.

Depending on the type of material to be cut, its thickness, number of disk cutters, it is necessary to set the disk cutters overlapping to obtain high-quality edge. It is performed by changing the disk cutters center-to-center distance that is adjusted simultaneously for all pairs by lifting or lowering the upper pads of the bearing supports using an adjustment screw.

It is possible to install an up to 0.8 mm thick manual roller shear for length cutting. Having additionally installed a 220 V electric cabinet with a variable-frequency inverter and a end switch, it is possible to automate the slitting process - the machine drive is stopped once metal reaches the end switch. Thus, setting the switch on the delivery table at a desired distance, it is possible to obtain the required length of the blanks.

The addition of extra set of cutter blades reduces the cutting capacity when slitting:

Caution: For slitting into strips less than 80 mm wide, special narrow cutters are additionally installed. Set to be planned with the order.
