Semi-electric slitting and cutting unit SPR-1250/5-A

Electromechanical slitting and length cutting machine SPR-1250/5-A (disk shear) is designed for slitting sheet or coiled metal into several strips of set width. The maximum slitting capacity is 1.5 mm; the maximum working width is 1,250 mm. As distinct from guillotines, the capacity of disk shears is dozen times as high, and its design allows cutting blanks of unlimited length. The transversal cutting may be performed, when extra roller shear is installed. (cutting capacity up to 0,8 mm).

Shafts with disk cutters installed on them are driven by a gear motor connected via a chain gear with the lower shaft, transferring the torque from the lower shaft to the upper shaft using gear wheels. Quick and easy adjustment of cutters for various blank width is performed by attaching the cutter blades with retention screws into 2 symmetrically milled surfaces on the shaft. High cut quality is ensured by precise machining of mating surfaces of disk cutters and shaft (polished surfaces), and fine fit thereof, which eliminates any misalignment and outrun during installation and operation. The distance between the disk cutters is set using a template or a sliding caliper.

Depending on the type of the material to be cut, its thickness and number on disk cutters, to obtain a high-quality edge (without burrs) it is also necessary to set the cutter blades overlapping using an adjustment screw lifting or lowering the bearing support upper pads, simultaneously changing center-to-center distance between disk cutters.

The addition of extra set of cutter blades reduces the cutting capacity when slitting:

Caution: For sliting into strips less than 80 mm wide, special narrow cutter blades are additionally installed. Set to be planned with the order.
